About Emma
Emma Clayton is an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Postpartum Doula, and Student Midwife. She seeks to improve the standard of care for birthing people and their families by combining the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with an evidence-based midwifery model of care to best support optimal fertility, empowered pregnancy, physiologic birth and nourished postpartum experiences. Emma’s path to Ayurveda and midwifery is inspired by her own reproductive journey, from unexplained amenorrhea to the home birth of her daughter, Piper, in 2018. As a surrogate, her recent experience with assisted reproductive technology and pregnancy loss, while humbling, serves as a rewarding catalyst to her study of midwifery today.
Emma looks forward to serving as a Certified Professional Midwife upon completion of her coursework and apprenticeship. Until then, she enjoys leading seasonal Ayurvedic cleanses, offering postpartum support, and engaging in birth story telling sessions. Click below to learn more about Emma and her services.

* Emma studied Ayurveda at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health where she lived as Intern for the Kripalu School of Ayurveda in 2015-2016. She has a deep admiration for this place and her teachers that helped infuse Ayurveda & Mindfulness into her everyday life, including the birth and postpartum of her daughter, Piper, in 2018. Around this time, Emma completed her Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula Training through the Center for Sacred Window Studies.
